About This Program
The Yoga Informed Certification program is aimed at introducing the provider to the use of yoga in the treatment of mental health and for improving wellbeing. Participants will explore the science behind why yoga works and introduce experientially the aspects of yoga that have been found to be highly effective in working with clients in a mental health context.
This training focuses on an integration of of yoga theory and skills, concepts in neurophysiology, and the neurobehavioral model of Somatic Experiencing and other body-based psychotherapies as well as trauma theory and interpersonal neurobiology. Through didactic presentation, experiential work, guided practice, role play, dyad and triads, group process, and consultation this retreat will guide participants through critical aspects of yoga philosophy, psychology, and practices for a spectrum of mental health concerns. You will leave confident and ready to bring this integrative model into your personal and professional practice.
How Will I Learn?
The Yoga Informed curriculum is designed from the start as an “inside out” process. This means that through experiential activity, self-reflection and deep engagement, you will be invited to learn the material through the experience of the embodied self, which will ultimately serve as the best guide to bringing this to your client work.
This training is eligible for 40 hours of CEU and you will receive a Certification of Completion in Yoga Informed Therapy. You will have the opportunity to be added to a national directory of Yoga Informed therapists.
Who Is This For?
This is appropriate for anyone who is interested in using yoga in their work or would like tools for working with clients and patients who have challenges with emotion regulation, mood disorders, addiction, trauma and stress or mental health concerns.
